Law vs Lie (Laws #499 539) Running Business, Having Slaves

  1. Deuteronomy 23:24-25 (ESV)

24 “If you go into your neighbor's vineyard, you may eat your fill of grapes, as many as you wish, but you shall not put any in your bag. 25 If you go into your neighbor's standing grain, you may pluck the ears with your hand, but you shall not put a sickle to your neighbor's standing grain
Per Maimonides 613 laws, Law #521 the worker must not eat while on hired time (Duet 23:26). This chapter of the book of Deuteronomy Chapter 23 only has 25 verses. If I am reading/understanding this correctly, this is not a law.

Law #520 states one can eat. I liken Law #520 (as noted in the video) to Duet. 25:4- You shall not muzzle an ox when it is treading out the grain. Also, I Tim 5:18 reads, For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”

Maimonides list of laws 526, 527 and 536, does not correspond to the scripture in my opinion. I read the entire chapter for context…I don’t understand how these particular laws relate to the given scripture.

    Exodus 22: 24 (ESV)-
(Law 526 Lend to the poor and destitute. Ref. Exod. 22:24)
(Law 527 Not to press them for payment if you know they don’t have it. Ref. Exod. 22:24
(Law 536 Not to intermediate in an interest loan, guarantee, witness, or write the promissory note. Ref. Exod. 22:24)
24 and my wrath will burn, and I will kill you with the sword, and your wives shall become widows and your children fatherless.
(Law 537 Lend to and borrow from idolaters with interest. Ref. Deut. 23:21)
21 If you make a vow to the LORD your God, you shall not delay fulfilling it, for the LORD your God will surely require it of you, and you will be guilty of sin.

Law 539 in the video referenced Numbers 37:8. Should be Numbers 27:8

  2. I hate the term Slave. It sounds very derogatory and demeaning of other souls. And I don't think God intended it to be like that
