*Law # 6 thru 10 ~ BOOK ONE: THE BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE (Fundamentals of Torah - Part II)

*Omitted (should not have been added to the Laws)
**Changed (a misinterpretation of the Law or based on the wrong scripture)
***No Longer Kept (No longer applicable today)

Law #6 Lev. 22:32 “Neither shall ye profane My holy name but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallowed you.”

Hallow the name of the Most High

Not only should we treat the name of the Most High with the utmost respect, we should do the same with the name of the Messiah.

Are we sanctifying His name when we exchange it for different names? Are we keeping His name holy and separated, above all other names when we irresponsibly call Him out of His name? There is no power in any other name but His own. When we worship Him, pray to Him, call on Him or do any act out of love for Him, it should be done in His true name or else it is done in vain.

We know that the name of the Messiah has changed, let’s discuss why it should not have been. The original Hebrew name of the Messiah is Yahusha, which means Yahuah is salvation. His name is not merely a combination of letters that make a sound, as the Greeks wanted to treat it when they transliterated it. Names in the Old Testament times were meant to convey meaning. The name Yahusha tells us the character of the person given the name.

In Exodus 3:11-15 the Most High says, “This is My name forever, this is My name for all generations.”

When we change His name we change who He is. We change who others know Him to be. This is only the beginning of changing His message and what He stands for. This is exactly what has happened to the truth of the gospel. It has been changed to fit the ideals of Christianity, which proclaims His name as Jesus Christ 'til this day.

The question of the day is, why did we need the Greeks to transliterate or butcher the name of the Messiah and make it Iesous? Was this necessary? Being that they were followers of paganism to begin with, could they really have appreciated the importance of keeping the name off the Messiah in its original form? Let’s go back even further. In attempt to sanctify the name of the Most High, Rabbi’s who did not receive the Messiah entered incorrect vowel points in the Hebrew name of the Messiah Yahusha to make it Yehoshua or Yeshua. While in their eye this would sanctify the name of the Most High, if defiles the name of His son, which in turn defiles the name of the Most High.

Greeks were not the only ones to play a part if changing the Messiah’s name. Hebrew Rabbi’s who were not messianic also played their part. It was and will always be the responsibility of the Israelites to ensure no one attempts to change the name of the Messiah into what they want it to be. We were so busy rebelling in idolatry that we didn’t care what the pagans did to the name of the Messiah and when we finally woke up we were too ignorant to know what His name truly was.

NT References:

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Philippians 2:9 Wherefore Yahuah also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Most High shall be saved.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of the Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Law #7 Lev. 22:32 “Neither shall ye profane My holy name but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallowed you.”

Do not profane the name of the Most High

This Commandment is very much a reiteration of Law #6. When we profane something holy or sacred, we treat it irreverently or with contempt. We abuse it. When we profane the name of the Most High, we desecrate it. We debase it with unworthiness.

Not to hallow and to profane is slightly different. We can hallow the name of the Most High with our actions and profane the name of the Most High with our words. This is quite possibly why there are two different laws based on the same scripture. We can proclaim to Him “Hallowed be thy name” while calling Him the wrong name…a contradiction in terms…an oxymoron in and of itself. Again, are we sanctifying His name when we exchange it for different names? Are we keeping His name holy and separated, above all other names when we irresponsibly call Him out of His name? There is no power in any other name but His own. When we worship Him, pray to Him, call on Him or do any act out of love for Him, it should be done in His true name or else it is done in vain.

This is what hallow means; to consecrate, to bless, to sacralize, to sanctify. When we completely honor the name of the Most High, we not only claim its honorability, we claim it under His correct name. In doing so, we respect it greatly, make it holy and set it apart from other names or names given by pagan peoples of the past. Doing anything otherwise, profanes the name of the Most High.

Many people are on a mission to discover the true name of the Father and Messiah…stay on that mission. We cannot consecrate what we do not know to be true. We must first unveil the truth…then we can uplift it.

**Law #8 Deut. 12:4 “Ye shall not do so unto the Most High.”

The Law here is “Not to worship the Most High with such things.”
What things? If we read this passage in its entirety we see that “such things” include altars, pillars, wooden images, and carved images. The Israelites were instructed to destroy these places, not to adopt them.

What other idols do many people worship the Most High with today? The cross, statues of so-called “Jesus Christ,” stain glass windows with the supposed image of the Messiah, altars with statues of angels all around and extravagant golden figurines, rosary beads, necklaces and other jewelry with images of “God” on them, and even some prayer shawls. Prayer shawls can be worn as a garment of worship but are not to be worshipped. Some of us have made an idol out of prayer cloths and oils/ointments with red dye in them. The most popular are pictures and paintings of “Jesus,” and miracle molds (breads, cheese, etc.) that people claim He’s manifested himself into that have been sold and put on display all over the world. How dare we diminish The Almighty to an image; a box He could never fit into.

Israel’s worship was and is to be imageless. Deut. 5:8 confirms the condemnation of the worship of any image, “any likeness of anything.”

**Two asterisks have been placed by this Law because according to Judaism, the command is “Not to destroy objects associated with His name." But that is not what the Law says.  According to the Law, NO objects should be associated with His name (Ex. 20:4).  It appears Judaism has justified the objects they’ve created in worship by changing this command to fit their traditions.  What objects are they trying to protect?

Law #9 comes from Deut. 18:15 “The Most High will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.”

The Law here is to listen to the prophet speaking His name.

It is in this Law that the Messiah is prophesied in the OT; that a Prophet above all prophets would come. Through him Yahuah would continue to make Himself and His will known to His people.

How do we know Moses was talking about Yahusha? The Messiah confirmed it himself in John 5:46-47 “If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.” It was prophesied by Moses that the Messiah would be born of the Hebrew Israelite nation and his doctrine should go forth to all the world. He would be like Moses but above him.

Listen to the Messiah.  He said,  “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel" (Matt. 15:24).  John 11:51 confirms that he died for the Hebrew Israelite nation; those in the land and those scattered. He came reminding the Israelite nation to keep the Commandments (Matt. 5:17-19, 19:18).  James 2:8-11 says if you sin “you are convicted by the Law…whosoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.” He came redeeming those under the Law, not abolishing it but reinforcing it. In the Beatitudes the Messiah tells us that we are “the salt of the earth, the light of the world, a city on a hill” (Matt. 5:13-14).

The Messiah reminded us that we as a nation will be judged (Matt. 19:28). We have a greater accountability. In John 4:22 he says “salvation is from the Jews.” It is through the Israel nation that the truth of the Word is known and that the one true God is known…no other nation was given that responsibility.

So, this Law is a very important one. We must listen to the Messiah and his instructions to us in accordance to the Laws in order to properly lead the nations to Him.

**Law #10. Deut. 6:16 “Ye shall not tempt the Most High, as ye tempted him in Massah.”

Man is forbidden to test the Most High by questioning His power and protection. Who are we to tell Him who He is or what He can do when He has already told us who He is to Israel? Our job is to trust what He has said and do as He has commanded. His characteristics are not what He does…they are who He is.

**Two asterisks have been placed by this Law because according to Judaism, the command is
“Not to test the prophet unduly.”  This is not what the scripture says.  Again, we find a law created by Judaism that deviates from the scripture to serve another purpose; to protect “a person.”  The command is not to test the Most High.  It is not, not to test a prophet.

The Most High's attributes are permanent and intrinsic qualities, which cannot be gained or lost by Him. Holiness is who He is. His righteousness, moral purity, justice, genuiness, veracity, faithfulness, His life, His wisdom, His knowledge, His infinitive nature and His persistence are all qualities of Himself, rather Israel exists or not.

Now, His qualities in relation to what He does, particularly for His chosen ones include being a creator, a guide, a preserver, faithful and one of grace and mercy.

The following are things that do not change the Most High's characteristics: our doubts, personal life issues, circumstances, situations, etc. So rather we doubt Him or not, He is still the same forever. Our job is simply to trust that He is who He says He is and that He can do what He says He can do.

What Has The Most High promised about Himself and for His Chosen People?

*Ex 19:5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

*Jer 3:14-18 Declares the Lord, “Return, faithless people…for I am your Husband.

*Amos 3:1-2 Hear this word the Lord has spoken against you, O people of Israel…You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth, therefore I will punish you for all your sins.

*Is 44:3 I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

*Jer 31:36 Only if these decrees vanish from my sight (sun to shine, moon/stars to shine at night, waves roar) will the descendants of Israel ever cease. Only if the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below be searched will I reject all the descendants of Israel, declares the Lord.

*Rom 9:4 “…(to) the people of Israel…Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the Law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Yahusha, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

*Ezek 37:22-23 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

*Lev 11:45 I am the Lord who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.

The Perversion of the NIV Bible

Harper Collins is the owner of the publishing company Zondervan. His most popular release is the New International Version of the Bible (NIV). Did you know that Harper Collins also publishes The Satanic Bible and The Joy of Gay Sex? Strangely enough, many believers don’t have a problem with this. If you are reading this you may change your mind by the end of this posting. I recently wrote about my discovery of this truth and my decision to throw away my NIV bible, which I’ve had for over 10 years. The Messiah taught that a corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit so how can the corrupt mind and heart of a man run a publishing company that is not corrupt? How can a corrupt publishing company release a text that is not corrupt? It’s enough that Zondervan released other books that are not in line with the holiness of the Word of Elohim. But if this bit of information isn’t enough to convince you that you should throw your NIV Bible’s in the trash and never study from or teach from them ever again, I’ve provided a list of perverted scriptures below. Below is a list of about 43 scriptures that have either been changed by the NIV publisher or completely removed, quite possibly to cause readers to turn away from what is moral and holy to Yahuah.

One more thing. For those of you who want to turn to the New KJV, be warned. Although this list of scriptures have not been perverted in the New KJV Bible, the New KJV has removed Jer. 14:2. Many of you may already know this is the scripture that claims Judah to be “Black unto the ground.” This is a very important scripture to me as it helps to identify Israel. Removal of this scripture tells me the publisher had an issue with the truth of Israel’s identity and has taken part in the conspiracy to hide the truth of our heritage, just as our ancestor’s slave masters have. So, guess what book is next to be thrown in the trash can? It appears every time a version of the Bible is released a scripture is removed from it. For this reason I’ve chosen to stick with the 1611 KJV Bible.

*Law # 1 thru 5 ~ BOOK ONE: THE BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE (Fundamentals of Torah - Part I)

*Omitted (should not have been added to the Laws)
**Changed (a misinterpretation of the Law or based on the wrong scripture)
***No Longer Kept (No longer applicable today)

Law# 1. Exodus 20:2 “I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.”

He says He is the Most High but not only is He the Most High, He is our God. He’s stating who He is and who He is to the Hebrew Israelites. As a result of being our God, He delivered us out of bondage. The key points to acknowledge in this Law is that He is our God and He delivered us out of bondage. His covenant is an everlasting one, therefore what He said He was, He will always be: our God who delivers us. Our response to this law should be to remember who He is to us and what He did and will continue to do for us. All trial and tribulation must bow to this command.

Law# 2. Exodus 20:3 (Deut. 6:14) "You shall not go after other gods, the gods of the peoples who are all around you."

We are commanded not to pursue any other gods. The word "god" is not only a noun, it is a verb; to regard or treat as a god; deity; idolize. How many of you recognize that money is a god? The fact that we need it to live should not cause us to worship it. Although many of us work hard for it, our service is not to it. We serve the Most High, not “wood and stone.” And for those of you who drop dollars in the collection plate looking for your money to multiply, please remember this…heaven is not Vegas…church is not a casino…God is not a slot machine that you put your money into, pull the lever and hope to get more back than you put in. Read Acts 8:20…money cannot buy you favor with the Most High. Money is only one of many gods served by many nations.

This Law also dealt with the possibility that the Israelites would be scattered away from their homeland familiar surroundings to find themselves surrounded by the gods of other nations. The Most High instructed us that when this should happen (and it has) not to serve the idols of those people whom we live with. We must dissect their culture, their customs, and their traditions to determine what is holy and what is not, what is reflective of the Most High and what bears the residue of paganism and the rituals of other nations. This is true sanctification.

Law# 3. Deut. 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God is one Lord.”

We are commanded to know that the Most High is one person, not to be confused with the gods of polytheism. Pagans worship many gods whom they believe rule the earth but there is only One who has established His everlasting covenant with the Israelites and only One capable of delivering them with signs and wonders out of bondage and through the wilderness. Often times when we think of polytheism we automatically think of the Greek and Roman gods such as Zeus and Jupiter. The pagan worshipers of such gods give honor to creation, not the creator. They appoint a god to every aspect of the atmospheric elements with no regard to who created the atmosphere. They are lost.

There is only One God, masterful enough to create even the human imagination, which we as free-will human beings can in turn choose to submit to such false gods. But after knowing the omnipotence of the one true God, why would we want to worship any other? Although often called God or Yahweh by many, His true original Hebrew name is Yahuah, and He is one.

Law# 4. Deut. 6:5 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.”

The command here is to love the Most High with all we have…all of our heart, soul and might. Love and worship go hand and hand. And what we claim to love we will submit our hearts to willingly. This is very important. When we love someone we yearn to give to them. If you’ve truly loved someone in your life all you want to do is continuously be a blessing to them in whatever way possible. If you’re one to sit back and plot what all you can get from the one you love…you may need to rethink the love you have for them.

Many believers do just that. What can I get from “God?” How can I get Him to bless me sooner? How much money do I have to give for “God” to take notice of my need? No matter how you put it, you’re still plotting to get the Most High to move on your behalf. Are you seeking ways in which you can move on His?

This is what loving Yahuah is all about. This is how we worship Him. We move on His behalf. If we love Him we will search His truth in the scriptures, not make excuses for why we don’t have time to. If we find out that scriptures have been tainted we will read a bible that is closer to the truth. If we find out that a truth we once knew of Him is actually a lie we will confront that fact and follow after the truth. We should not continue to follow after the lie.

John 4:23-24 says, “But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for such people the Father seeks to be His worshipers.  The Most High is a spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

There are many lies out there about Yahuah. You cannot give up on Him that easily. Today, we must dig. Thankfully, we have the resources to learn the truth, to spread the truth and dialogue with others around the world who also seek after it. The truth is out there but we have to find it. The Messiah was ready for this day. He said, “Seek and ye shall find.” (Matt. 7:7)

How far will we go to show our love to the Most High? Some church goers will tell you if you love him you’ll join the usher board…join the choir….the cooking committee. Today, love must go deeper than that. What difference does it make how hard you work in a church if the church is operating under a lie? With good intentions and all, we are held accountable for our own actions. We’re responsible to follow after the truth. Likewise, every pastor that preaches or teaches a lie will also be held accountable. Too many good-hearted believers are working diligently in a church that is teaching them a lie. I have good news and bad news for you good hearted Christians out there…..He see’s your heart. What’s the bad news? If you’re fully capable for studying to show yourself approved and you’ve chosen not to, you will be held accountable.

Love and obedience also go hand In hand. He says in John 14:15 “If you love Me, keep my commandments.” That’s why we’re all here ladies and gentlemen…to keep the commandments. To obey the covenant established with the Children of Israel and their descendants (that’s us) in the wilderness and to continue to remain obedient to that everlasting covenant (Jer. 31:33).

There’s so much to discuss in this area of loving the Most High.  Maybe you all can expand more with your thoughts. Basically, there’s no area in our lives unexposed to loving Him. If we love Him we will worship Him and do so in truth and in true submission.

Law# 5. Deut. 10:20 “Thou shalt fear the Lord thy god; Him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by His name.”

Law #5 commands us to fear the Most High; to serve the Most High, to cleave to Him and to swear by His name. Let’s work our way backwards on this one. In order to swear by His name you must know it. the Most High's name is Yahuah. When we swear by His name we recognize him in a promise or an oath. He is our credibility to back up our integrity. Swearing to His name is like saying “Yahuah is the backbone that allows me to stand today and make this promise to you. “ By doing this we are holding ourselves accountable to the God we represent. But this is also a form of fear; reverencing Yahuah’s sovereignty and dominion over our lives.

We’re commanded to cleave to the Most High. Do not turn away from His truth, from His commandments, from His word or from the ways in which He commanded us to live our lives. If He’s commanded us to celebrate His Holy days rather than the worlds holidays then do that. If He’s commanded us to be a witness to the nations and teach them the commandments then do that (Matt. 28:19). Teach no more, teach no less (Deut. 12:32) The Messiah taught the disciples and the rich man to obey the Commandments (Mark 10:19). This is a consistent message all throughout the bible (with the exception of Paul). With us being dispora Israelites, dispersed throughout the world in the 21st century, all we have to cleave to is the Book. The truth has been ripped away from us and we must find our way back to it. He’s promised to help us in His word. He says in James 4:8 “Draw nigh to the Most High, and He will draw night to you.” This is another form of fear; fear of getting away from Him. The thought of losing sight of Yahuah in our lives should strike up a fear within us, as if we were losing our identity…again. So, cleave to Him.

We’re commanded to serve Him. There’s a lot of people out there who want to serve Yahuah but don’t know a thing about Him. This type of service is in vain. You’re first service to Him is to know Him. How can you teach about Him unless you know Him? How can you intercede in His name unless you know His name. How can you claim to be obedient to Him unless you know and confess what it is He’s called you to be obedient to? We cannot truly fear Him if we do not know Him nor can we truly serve Him.

However, for those of you who do know Him. Remember, serving Him is selfless. We do it expecting nothing back in return. This is true ministry for the kingdom. The command here is to fear the Most High, serve Him, cleave to Him and to swear by His name. I contend today that this cannot be achieved until you first, Know Him. It is the root that the fruit will grow from.

A Study of The Law of Moses: Introduction

The purpose of this study is to follow after the purest form of the law and not rabbinical additions to it.

The 613 Commandments are statements and principles of law, ethics, and spiritual practice contained in the Torah or Five Books of Moses. These principles are also known as “Mosaic Law” or the “Covenant Code.” There have been many attempts to codify and enumerate the Commandments contained in the Torah but the traditionally accepted view is based on Maimonides 12th century version. According to prior research, there are 365 negative and 248 positive commandments. There are 26 commandments that only apply within the land of Israel. There are 271 commandments that can be observed today (77 positive and 194 negative). This means that 342 commandments of the 613 cannot be observed today by dispora Israelites (including the 26 that only apply in Israel). There are various reasons for this. The Temple no longer exists for tribes commanded to do various duties in the land of Israel, such as the priestly duties of the Levites in the Temple.  The Messiah came as the most high priest, omitting the need for another priest and He also came as the most high sacrifice, omitting the need for future animal sacrifices. These are the main reasons.

So, when the Most High commands us to be diligent in keeping the Commandments, it is a given that certain laws can’t be kept but can still be honored as a part of the Law of Moses and remind us of the reason behind those Laws in their historical context. For example, Law #596 (Maimonides’ List) says “Destroy the seven Canaanite nations” and is based on Deut. 20:17 “But thou shalt utterly destroy them…as the Lord thy God hath commanded thee.” Deut. 7:1 says the seven nations are “…the Hittites, the Girgashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than you.” This is a one-time law, meaning once it is achieved it is no longer necessary to follow it. The Israelites completed this Commandment so it is no longer needs to be kept. However, we can remember why it was commanded.

There is also a very important issue with Oral Law vs. Written Law. Oral Law is the portion of the Law that was not written in the Torah but supposedly passed down over the years and eventually added later by Rabbi’s of the Judaic faith. The Talmud is a record of rabbinic discussions pertaining to Jewish law, ethics, philosophy, customs and history. It has two components: the Mishnah (200 CE) which is Judaism’s Oral Law and the Gemara (500 CE) which discusses the Mishnah and other writings.

Hebrew Israelites are not followers of rabbinical oral law additions or Judaic religion therefore it is necessary to dissect the traditional written version of the commandments and determine what part is pure and based on actual scripture and what part has been tainted? We also had to do this with the actual name of the Messiah, as it is stated by many that early Rabbi’s of the 10th century placed vowel points at the incorrect location in the Messiahs name, purposefully.  This has caused many to call the Messiah Yehoshua and Yeshua when his name should be Yehusha or Yahusha.

What did the Messiah say about the Rabbi’s of his day? Matt. 23:3 confirms he never promoted disobedience to them but at the same time he told the Israelites not to do as they do. He said, “..for they do not practice what they preach.” In verse 5 he says, “Everything they do is done for men to see. They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted in the market places and to have men call them ‘Rabbi.’ But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have only one Master and you are all brothers. And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and He is in heaven. Nor are you to be called ‘teacher,’ for you have one Teacher, The Messiah. ” Verse 13 says, “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to. Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.” He goes on to tell them in verse 33, “How will you escape being condemned to hell?”

The purpose of this study is to follow after the purest form of the law and not rabbinical additions to it.

The ironic dilemma in studying the Laws of Moses and the ways of the original Hebrews is that many converts who are not the true Israelites descendents are more knowledgeable of the Mosaic faith than the actual Israelites themselves who have been scattered around the world, stripped of knowledge of self. Therefore, those Israelites may find themselves studying the ways of converts in order to get back to their historical roots. However, those converts over the generations have not sought to keep the Torah pure but have added religious rituals and requirements to it. Therefore, we must decipher what parts of the documented 613 Commandments are pure and what part are traditions established over time in Judaic religion.

Many Christians today would say that the Laws are no longer in effect, quoting the Messiah in John 15:12-17 “My command is this: Love others as I have loved you.” However, the Messiah had just stated in chapter 14:31 “The world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me.” All throughout the NT the Messiah comes speaking what he was commanded by the Most High. Now, he’s giving his own command to love one another. But this command does not trump the Father's. The Messiah clearly says “My command is this…” He’s made a clear distinction between what the Father commands and what he himself is commanding, which is simply to love one another. Love is the most essential part of keeping the Commandments.  This is what makes it so great but it this command does not replace the Laws of the Most High.

Others say the new or renewed covenant spoken of in Jer. 31:31-33 details a new covenant where the Law is no longer. However, Jer. 31:33 says, “This is the covenant I will make with the House of Israel after that time, I will put my Law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be there God and they my people…for I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.” The new covenant is the forgiveness of sins, not the removal of the Law. The Law being removed is clearly not a part of the new covenant.   The forgiveness it executes is intended to draw men to the Most High so much so, that the Laws would be written on their hearts.  In I John 1:3, the Apostle John reiterates “We know that we have come to know him if we obey His commands.” Verse 7 says, “Dear friends, I am not writing you a new command but an old one, which you have had since the beginning.” In spite of other false apostles teaching people not to keep the commands, John is reiterating that nothing has changed since the coming of the Messiah.

Now that it’s clear that we should keep the Commandments, this study will help to dissect them. Upon the completion of this study, I expect to have a series of Laws (originally based on Maimonides 12th century format and classification) that are applicable to today’s Hebrew Israelites, untainted by the religion of Judaism.

*Omitted (should not have been added to the Laws)
**Changed (a misinterpretation of the Law or based on the wrong scripture)
***No Longer Kept (No longer applicable today)

613 Laws: The Maimonides List

First thing first, most comprehensive lists of the 613 Laws are written by Rabbi’s. The intentions of those authors are unknown to us today. This has been an excuse for many as to why not to study the lists of Laws made available to us.

Hebrew Israelites are not followers of rabbinical oral law additions or Judaic religion therefore it is necessary to dissect the traditional written version of the commandments and determine what part is pure and based on actual scripture and what part has been tainted? We must do this with the actual name of the Messiah and the Law is no different.

Probably one of the most comprehensive lists is written by Rabbi Moses ben-Maimon and was published in the 1100’s. He was born in Spain in 1135. He was a well known and respected Jewish philosopher and Torah Scholar in the middle ages. He also became a physician and philosopher in Morocco and Egypt. He’s considered one of the most influential figures in medieval Jewish philosophy. His list of 613 Laws is considered one of the chief authoritative codifications of Jewish Law and ethics. Why?

He did a good job of categorizing all of the laws into 14 books and subcategories based on the principles of each Law. What’s wrong with it? He takes certain scriptures and gives it an Oral Law interpretation based on Jewish tradition. For example, Maimonides Law #91 “To sanctify the day with Kiddush and Havdallah (sanctify the Sabbath with the blessing of wine and a candle blessing that ends the Sabbath).” This law is based on Exodus 20:8 “Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.” It says nothing about Kiddush and Havdallah. Sure enough, people will create their own traditions for what they celebrate but those traditions are not laws and must remain separate. Maimonides does not do a good job of keeping tradition out of the purity of the Laws.

I have found numerous lists and they all have certain laws written completely differently and at times use completely different scripture references as well for the same Laws.

Clearly, breaking down the Laws will be a bit of a challenge. But if we can extract the scripture, we can know the Law. No more excuses for not knowing or obeying the Laws. We may have to dig through rabbinical tradition to get down to the pure law but it’s time to stop talking about the Law and start studying the Law. This is where our obedience begins.
