*Law # 6 thru 10 ~ BOOK ONE: THE BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE (Fundamentals of Torah - Part II)

*Omitted (should not have been added to the Laws)
**Changed (a misinterpretation of the Law or based on the wrong scripture)
***No Longer Kept (No longer applicable today)

Law #6 Lev. 22:32 “Neither shall ye profane My holy name but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallowed you.”

Hallow the name of the Most High

Not only should we treat the name of the Most High with the utmost respect, we should do the same with the name of the Messiah.

Are we sanctifying His name when we exchange it for different names? Are we keeping His name holy and separated, above all other names when we irresponsibly call Him out of His name? There is no power in any other name but His own. When we worship Him, pray to Him, call on Him or do any act out of love for Him, it should be done in His true name or else it is done in vain.

We know that the name of the Messiah has changed, let’s discuss why it should not have been. The original Hebrew name of the Messiah is Yahusha, which means Yahuah is salvation. His name is not merely a combination of letters that make a sound, as the Greeks wanted to treat it when they transliterated it. Names in the Old Testament times were meant to convey meaning. The name Yahusha tells us the character of the person given the name.

In Exodus 3:11-15 the Most High says, “This is My name forever, this is My name for all generations.”

When we change His name we change who He is. We change who others know Him to be. This is only the beginning of changing His message and what He stands for. This is exactly what has happened to the truth of the gospel. It has been changed to fit the ideals of Christianity, which proclaims His name as Jesus Christ 'til this day.

The question of the day is, why did we need the Greeks to transliterate or butcher the name of the Messiah and make it Iesous? Was this necessary? Being that they were followers of paganism to begin with, could they really have appreciated the importance of keeping the name off the Messiah in its original form? Let’s go back even further. In attempt to sanctify the name of the Most High, Rabbi’s who did not receive the Messiah entered incorrect vowel points in the Hebrew name of the Messiah Yahusha to make it Yehoshua or Yeshua. While in their eye this would sanctify the name of the Most High, if defiles the name of His son, which in turn defiles the name of the Most High.

Greeks were not the only ones to play a part if changing the Messiah’s name. Hebrew Rabbi’s who were not messianic also played their part. It was and will always be the responsibility of the Israelites to ensure no one attempts to change the name of the Messiah into what they want it to be. We were so busy rebelling in idolatry that we didn’t care what the pagans did to the name of the Messiah and when we finally woke up we were too ignorant to know what His name truly was.

NT References:

Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Philippians 2:9 Wherefore Yahuah also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

Acts 2:21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Most High shall be saved.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of the Messiah for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Law #7 Lev. 22:32 “Neither shall ye profane My holy name but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the Lord which hallowed you.”

Do not profane the name of the Most High

This Commandment is very much a reiteration of Law #6. When we profane something holy or sacred, we treat it irreverently or with contempt. We abuse it. When we profane the name of the Most High, we desecrate it. We debase it with unworthiness.

Not to hallow and to profane is slightly different. We can hallow the name of the Most High with our actions and profane the name of the Most High with our words. This is quite possibly why there are two different laws based on the same scripture. We can proclaim to Him “Hallowed be thy name” while calling Him the wrong name…a contradiction in terms…an oxymoron in and of itself. Again, are we sanctifying His name when we exchange it for different names? Are we keeping His name holy and separated, above all other names when we irresponsibly call Him out of His name? There is no power in any other name but His own. When we worship Him, pray to Him, call on Him or do any act out of love for Him, it should be done in His true name or else it is done in vain.

This is what hallow means; to consecrate, to bless, to sacralize, to sanctify. When we completely honor the name of the Most High, we not only claim its honorability, we claim it under His correct name. In doing so, we respect it greatly, make it holy and set it apart from other names or names given by pagan peoples of the past. Doing anything otherwise, profanes the name of the Most High.

Many people are on a mission to discover the true name of the Father and Messiah…stay on that mission. We cannot consecrate what we do not know to be true. We must first unveil the truth…then we can uplift it.

**Law #8 Deut. 12:4 “Ye shall not do so unto the Most High.”

The Law here is “Not to worship the Most High with such things.”
What things? If we read this passage in its entirety we see that “such things” include altars, pillars, wooden images, and carved images. The Israelites were instructed to destroy these places, not to adopt them.

What other idols do many people worship the Most High with today? The cross, statues of so-called “Jesus Christ,” stain glass windows with the supposed image of the Messiah, altars with statues of angels all around and extravagant golden figurines, rosary beads, necklaces and other jewelry with images of “God” on them, and even some prayer shawls. Prayer shawls can be worn as a garment of worship but are not to be worshipped. Some of us have made an idol out of prayer cloths and oils/ointments with red dye in them. The most popular are pictures and paintings of “Jesus,” and miracle molds (breads, cheese, etc.) that people claim He’s manifested himself into that have been sold and put on display all over the world. How dare we diminish The Almighty to an image; a box He could never fit into.

Israel’s worship was and is to be imageless. Deut. 5:8 confirms the condemnation of the worship of any image, “any likeness of anything.”

**Two asterisks have been placed by this Law because according to Judaism, the command is “Not to destroy objects associated with His name." But that is not what the Law says.  According to the Law, NO objects should be associated with His name (Ex. 20:4).  It appears Judaism has justified the objects they’ve created in worship by changing this command to fit their traditions.  What objects are they trying to protect?

Law #9 comes from Deut. 18:15 “The Most High will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken.”

The Law here is to listen to the prophet speaking His name.

It is in this Law that the Messiah is prophesied in the OT; that a Prophet above all prophets would come. Through him Yahuah would continue to make Himself and His will known to His people.

How do we know Moses was talking about Yahusha? The Messiah confirmed it himself in John 5:46-47 “If you believed Moses, you would believe me, for he wrote about me.” It was prophesied by Moses that the Messiah would be born of the Hebrew Israelite nation and his doctrine should go forth to all the world. He would be like Moses but above him.

Listen to the Messiah.  He said,  “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel" (Matt. 15:24).  John 11:51 confirms that he died for the Hebrew Israelite nation; those in the land and those scattered. He came reminding the Israelite nation to keep the Commandments (Matt. 5:17-19, 19:18).  James 2:8-11 says if you sin “you are convicted by the Law…whosoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.” He came redeeming those under the Law, not abolishing it but reinforcing it. In the Beatitudes the Messiah tells us that we are “the salt of the earth, the light of the world, a city on a hill” (Matt. 5:13-14).

The Messiah reminded us that we as a nation will be judged (Matt. 19:28). We have a greater accountability. In John 4:22 he says “salvation is from the Jews.” It is through the Israel nation that the truth of the Word is known and that the one true God is known…no other nation was given that responsibility.

So, this Law is a very important one. We must listen to the Messiah and his instructions to us in accordance to the Laws in order to properly lead the nations to Him.

**Law #10. Deut. 6:16 “Ye shall not tempt the Most High, as ye tempted him in Massah.”

Man is forbidden to test the Most High by questioning His power and protection. Who are we to tell Him who He is or what He can do when He has already told us who He is to Israel? Our job is to trust what He has said and do as He has commanded. His characteristics are not what He does…they are who He is.

**Two asterisks have been placed by this Law because according to Judaism, the command is
“Not to test the prophet unduly.”  This is not what the scripture says.  Again, we find a law created by Judaism that deviates from the scripture to serve another purpose; to protect “a person.”  The command is not to test the Most High.  It is not, not to test a prophet.

The Most High's attributes are permanent and intrinsic qualities, which cannot be gained or lost by Him. Holiness is who He is. His righteousness, moral purity, justice, genuiness, veracity, faithfulness, His life, His wisdom, His knowledge, His infinitive nature and His persistence are all qualities of Himself, rather Israel exists or not.

Now, His qualities in relation to what He does, particularly for His chosen ones include being a creator, a guide, a preserver, faithful and one of grace and mercy.

The following are things that do not change the Most High's characteristics: our doubts, personal life issues, circumstances, situations, etc. So rather we doubt Him or not, He is still the same forever. Our job is simply to trust that He is who He says He is and that He can do what He says He can do.

What Has The Most High promised about Himself and for His Chosen People?

*Ex 19:5 Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be my treasured possession. Although the whole earth is mine, you will be for me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.

*Jer 3:14-18 Declares the Lord, “Return, faithless people…for I am your Husband.

*Amos 3:1-2 Hear this word the Lord has spoken against you, O people of Israel…You only have I chosen of all the families of the earth, therefore I will punish you for all your sins.

*Is 44:3 I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants.

*Jer 31:36 Only if these decrees vanish from my sight (sun to shine, moon/stars to shine at night, waves roar) will the descendants of Israel ever cease. Only if the heavens above can be measured and the foundations of the earth below be searched will I reject all the descendants of Israel, declares the Lord.

*Rom 9:4 “…(to) the people of Israel…Theirs is the adoption as sons; theirs the divine glory, the covenants, the receiving of the Law, the temple worship and the promises. Theirs are the patriarchs, and from them is traced the human ancestry of Yahusha, who is God over all, forever praised! Amen.

*Ezek 37:22-23 I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel. There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms. They will no longer defile themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding, and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.

*Lev 11:45 I am the Lord who brought you up out of Egypt to be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.

  1. Found out that I was not a African American and come to the knowledge of me being Hebrew just blew my mind. Eventually walked away from christianity to pursue my right relationship with Yahuah and it has changed my life. Thanks for all the teachings you have posted so I and others like myself can learn and walk this life out and be pleasing to our Father. Blessings be upon you.

  2. I am learning so much from your blog posts and videos! The thing I am struggling most with though is your teaching that Yahusha is not God, however, in your list of scripture references above you have Romans 4:2 which clearly states ...and from them is traced the human ancestry of Yahusha, WHO IS GOD OVER ALL, forever praised! I don't know if you even still monitor comments for posts you made so long ago, but if you see this please help me understand your teaching in light of this scripture which says that not only is Yahusha God, but that he is to be worshipped. Thanks!
