Law #24 Not to turn to idols

Lev. 19:4 “Turn ye not unto idols…”

Law #25 Not to follow the whims of your heart or what your eyes may see.

Num. 15:39 “…and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring.”

**Law #26 Not to blaspheme (show lack of reverence to the Most High)
This Law is based on Ex. 22:27 which reads “For that is his covering only, it is his raiment for his skin…”  This is incorrect.  The actual scriptural reference should be Ex. 22:28 (Strong’s) You must not blaspheme the Most High

Law #27 Not to worship idols

Ex. 20:5 “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them (any likeness of anything in heaven, earth or the ocean), nor serve them: For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.”

We are commanded not to bow down and worship any idol.  It’s difficult to determine where the thin line is between identifying images and idol images but the rule of thumb is any image becomes an idol when it is exalted or worshiped.  Law #28 is very similar to Law #24 & 25.  It’s important to note that the Most High uses the word “hate” to describe those who disregard the commandments.  He says in verse 6 “…but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”  Many proclaim to love the Most High but blatantly disregard his commands.  According to Him, He is hated by these so-called worshipers.  You may have built a billion dollar cathedral of precious stones and gold and placed in it golden angels and crosses but according to the Law, this is idolatry and does not honor Him in any way.

*Law #28 Not to worship idols in the four ways we worship the Most High

Ex. 20:5 “Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them (any likeness of anything in heaven, earth or the ocean), nor serve them: For I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me.”

This is an extra law included by Judaists unnecessarily.  The law they’ve created according to Maimonides is: “Not to worship idols in the four ways we worship God.”   The scripture says nothing about this and adding to the Laws is an abomination to the Most High. This law was created by Rabbi’s to address a ritual involved in Judaism but is not a commandment that was given by the Most High.  It is a part of their oral law, added to the scriptures to suit their own traditions. Law #29 Not to make an idol for yourself

Ex. 20:4 “Thou shall not make unto thee any graven image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath or that is in the water under the earth.”

Law #30 Not to make an idol for others

Lev. 19:4 “Turn ye not unto idols…”

The commandments are clear.  What remains unclear among today’s Israelites is what can be classified as an idol?  In order to know what we must not turn to or create, we must know what an idol is.  The definition of idol according to Webster is a symbol or representation of god or deity that is worshiped; a person or thing that is adored.  But we must dig deeper than Webster and go into the Word.  Since this Law is something many Israelites have trouble understanding today I will try to present several scriptures that speak to it for a full understanding. 

*Deut.4:15-16 “Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for you saw no similitude on the day that the Lord spoke to you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire: Lest you corrupt yourselves and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female.”

*Deut. 27:15 “Cursed be the man that makes any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the Lord, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and puts it in a secret place.”

We’re commanded not to make a graven image of a heavenly, earthly, or oceanic thing.  Engrave is the modern term for “graven” and is defined as a carving on a surface, a cut or edge in stone, metal or wood, or a print from plates.  Images of heavenly things represent Yahuah and the creations in heaven.  The Most High never appears as an image therefore no image could ever represent Him.  To diminish Him to an image is degrading to His authority and omnipotence.  However, the commandment is also talking about earthy things and oceanic things (Exo. 20:4).  Earthly and oceanic things represent us and other creation.  No image can represent the Most High.  Likewise, no image can represent the Israelite nation.  We are to be an imageless people.

But let’s talk about the word “image.”  What turns a simple image into idolatry?  Worship.  When we create an image for the purpose of reverence or worship, it becomes the type of image that leads to idolatry.  Remember, idols were turned to and created because they represented something or someone of great power.  However,  NOT every image is an idol.  For instance, you may have a family photo in your wallet or in your home.  It is an item of identification, not worship.  It doesn’t represent a higher form of you, it only identifies your family.  Your driver license is a graven image of you but this doesn’t mean you worship yourself with it.  It is an identifier.  A street sign is not put up to be worshiped but to identify the street you’re on.  On the other hand, a tattoo is NOT an identifier but an image you believe represents you.  Obvious idols include statues of angels in churches, the cross that supposedly represents the Messiah, pictures, paintings or stain glass windows of heavenly images. 

What is the rule of thumb?  No temporal object (including gold) could ever represent the holiness of Yahuah.  There’s no point in even attempting to create a statue or monument that represents the Almighty.  Likewise, no temporal image of worship could ever represent his chosen people because we do not worship ourselves.  This is idolatry.

**Law #31 Not to make human forms, even for decorative purposes

Ex. 20:20 “And Moses said unto the people, fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.”
It says not to make human forms, even for decoration. But the scriptural reference for this Laws is Ex 20:20 and it doesn’t say anything about this.  But if you read down to vs. 23, we see what would be the scriptural reference, which says, “Ye shall not make gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.”  So, slight change in the scriptural reference only.


Law #32 Not to turn a city to idolatry

Ex. 23:13 “And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect; and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.”

The Most High is instructing us to make no mention of the name of other gods with our own mouth. The commandment here is not to entertain paganism or the idea of there being another god or even a lesser god. There is only one. He is detesting polytheism and paganism.


**Law #33 To burn a city that has turned to idol worship

Law #34 Not rebuild it as a city (after you burn it)

Deut 13:17 “And there shall cleave not of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the Lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers.”

We have to read the verse in context.  If we go back to verse 16 we do see the actual command to burn an idolatrous city, so the scriptural reference needs to be changed to include vs. 16.

While still in the wilderness, the Israelites are commanded not to cleave to the cursed things and customs of those in the land. The religion of the Canaanites was centered on shrines located on hilltops scattered throughout the country (Deut. 12:3). The pillars or images were poles of wood or stone, sometimes decorated with carving, sometimes not (Deut. 16:21). The Israelites have already been commanded not to partake in idolatry but they would soon enter into and take over cities full of idolatry. Many of them adopted the customs of the land they conquered when ordered not to which led the Most High to anger against them. Today, much of the Israelite nation dwells among idolatry in America. Although, not residing in Israel we are still expected to uphold this commandment. We are commanded here, not to adopt the cursed thing of the nations we live amongst and that this is the way we shall acquire His mercy and compassion and this is how He will multiply us. Again, it’s difficult to determine where the thin line is between identifying images such as pictures and id’s and idol images like statues and monuments, but the rule of thumb is any image becomes an idol when it is exalted or worshiped. Today, people are worshiping money because it represents power. Money is not an idol but the love of money makes it so. People are worshiping name brands because they’re attached to popular people. They’re worshiping luxuries, fancy cars, and big oversized overpriced homes because they represent an image of wealth. They believe image is everything. The truth is wealth is a virtue that begins on the inside. For the Israelites, our wealth has always been contingent upon our obedience to the Most High and initially has nothing to do with money. We simply desire to possess what the Almighty gives, nothing more, nothing less. We are commanded to cleave to the ideals of the Law and not the customs of the people we live among.

**Law #35 Not to derive benefit from it (the cursed thing).

Deut. 13:18 "When thou shalt hearken to the voice of the Most High, to keep all His Commandments..."

The scriptural reference for this Law should be vs. 17  “And there shall cleave not of the cursed thing to thine hand: that the Lord may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers.”



Law #36 Not to missionize an individual to idol worship
Deut. 13:12-14 “If you hear someone in one of your cities...saying, Certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have enticed the inhabitants of their city, saying, ‘Let us go and serve other gods’ which you have not known; then you shall inquire, search out, and ask
diligently [if it be true]…”
Here, we are commanded not to coerce another into idol worship.

Law# 37 Not to love the missionary (who promotes paganism)

Law #40 Not to say anything in his defense

Law #41  Not to refrain from incriminating him


Laws# 37, 38, 39, 40, 41 are all based on the same scripture:
Deut. 13:9 which reads, “But thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death, and afterward the hand of all the people.”

Who this scripture refers to is in vs.6, anyone who “secretly entices you to go and serve other gods.”  One who promotes paganism. The scripture says to kill anyone who promotes serving another god. Here a Law that feasible to keep today, and this is why. We are nowhere near our homeland but in the land of other nations. We would be terrorists to destroy people for their sin. And we have been the greatest sinners, failing to keep the Commandments given to our forefathers. We are all worthy of death because we have all served other gods in the process of waking up in this foreign land. We’ve served money, we’ve served self-image, we’ve served celebrities by making idols of them, we’ve served pastors by making gods out of them. The most we can do to keep this commandment is to keep our eyes on the Most High and stop making idols out of the people and customs around us and as the 5 Laws above state, turn from anyone who promotes paganism.  Law #38 is a repeat of Law #37 and should be omitted.  To "not love" and "not cease from hating" is the same thing. This Law does not need to be repeated. 


*Law #42 Not to prophesize in the name of idolatry

Deut. 13:14 “Then shalt though inquire, and make search, and ask diligently and if it be true (that someone is prophesizing idolatry) vs. 15 you shall smite the inhabitants of that city…”
So, we’ve seen many mentions of idolatry and how we shouldn’t partake or allow it.  This command has been presented in Law #36 “Not to missionize an individual to idol worship” which means the same as prophesizing or coercing others in the name of idolatry.  This Law is a repeated Command and should be omitted.
Law#43 Not to listen to a false prophet.

Deut. 13:4 "Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear Him, and keep His Commandments, and obey His voice, and ye shall serve Him, and cleave unto Him."

Verse 1-3 gives better insight into this Command.  It reads “If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, who gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or the wonder come to pass, [then] he spoke to you, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou has not known, and let us serve them; Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet or that dreamer…”

If a prophet speaks to you, leading you to other gods to serve other gods (even if what that prophet says comes to pass), do not listen to them. You will know a false prophet by the direction in which they lead you. If you find yourself under the leadership of someone who has you worshiping the god called “prosperity” or the god called “fame,” you’re following the wrong prophet. If it is the Most Highs’ will to bless us with these things, then so-be-it. But we seek first the kingdom and its righteousness. We have no concern for what happens after that. How to tell if someone really loves the Most High? Ask them, “If the Most High blessed you with nothing else for the rest of your life, would you still serve Him?” Ask yourselves the same. There is no such thing as “If I___ for the Most High, then He will ___.” He doesn’t serve us, we serve Him. And our service is not contingent upon an expected blessing. Any prophet who teaches you otherwise, is false. Keep in mind Deut. 18:22 says “When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come to pass…but the prophet has spoke it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.” This means that just because what someone has spoken has not come to pass, doesn’t mean they are not of the Most High. No one is perfect but Him.

Law #44 Not to prophesy falsely in the name of the Most High.

Deut. 18:20 “But the prophet which shall presume to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.” We are commanded not prophesy falsely in the name of the Most High. Do not prophesy what you know the Most High has not ordained you to say. If you’re in ministry for what you can get out of it, nine chances out of ten, you are not ordained because you do not have the heart of the Most High. True prophets honor the written Word (Is. 8:20) and will not lead anyone to a false word or a pagan god.

***Law #45 Not to be afraid of killing the false prophet.

Deut. 18:20 “But the prophet which shall presume to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die.” The second command found in Deut. 8:20 is to not be afraid to kill the false prophet. There’s a provision in the law as to what a righteous people should do to an unrighteous people and some angry Israelites are actually ready to do it. But there are two very important reasons why not to. #1 The Messiah brought the Most High sacrifice for the atonement of sins, himself. In entered mercy and grace. Jer. 31:31 says “I will forgive their iniquity and remember their sin no more.” This is a part of the new covenant Jeremiah was talking about; forgiveness. 2nd Which one of us Israelites are qualified to stone another? The last I checked, we are all in a foreign land for a reason. Neither one of us have managed not to fall short of holiness. So, who’s going to throw the first stone? This Law can no longer be kept.  If it could, we would all be stoned to death for our sins. Mercy and grace has saved us all from judgment.


Law#46 Not to swear in the name of an idol

Exo. 23:13 “And in all things that I have said unto you be circumspect; and make no mention of the name of other gods, neither let it be heard out of thy mouth.”
Similar to Law #32 the key focus of this Law is “other gods” and that anything done for “other gods” is an abomination.

Law#47 Not to perform ov (medium)
Law # 48 Not to perform yidoni (magic)

Lev. 19:31 “Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.”

The first command is not to seek after those with familiar spirits (mediums) and wizards (those who partake in magic) neither are we to perform such. In 1 Samuel 28:7, we see these gifts are real when Saul goes to see a medium and actually speaks to Samuel who is dead through the medium. Although it was an abomination, Saul was still able to speak with Samuel. There are plenty of spiritual gifts which we do not understand which may not be gifts at all, but we are commanded not to seek after mediums or performers of magic to be defiled by them. It’s easy to become mesmerize by the spirit realm and know the unknown but no being, spiritual or otherwise is more trustworthy than the Most High.


Law#49 Not to pass your children thorugh the fire of Molech

Lev. 18:21 “And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through the fire of Molech…” (DO NOT KILL YOUR KIDS)
Molech is an ancient Ammonite god, worshipped by Canaanites and Phoenicians among others in North Africa. “Passing your child through the fire” refers to child sacrifice by parents. This practice is also mentioned in 2 Chron. 28:3, 33:6, Jer. 7:31, and 19:2-6. We’re commanded not to sacrifice our children, period. Not for a pagan god, not for the Illuminati, and certainly not to be free from the responsibility of raising your kids. Some mothers are serving life sentences for killing their children. Some teens are having kids and throwing them into the dumpster, but the command forbidding such horrific acts is found in Lev. 18:21.

Law#50 Not to erect a column in a public place of worship.

Deut. 16:22 “Neither shalt thou set thee up ANY image; which the Most High hates.” “Any image” includes such things as altars, pillars, wooden images, and carved images, and pictures of “Jesus.” The Israelites were instructed to destroy such items and places of idolatry, not to adopt them and certainly not to worship them. What other idols are considered hated by the Most High? The cross, statues of so-called “Jesus Christ,” stain glass windows with his supposed image, statues of angels, golden figurines that represent Him, rosary beads, necklaces and other jewelry with images of “God” on them. And if you’re worshiping a prayer shawl, prayer clothes, holy water, and “anointed oils” they too are hated by the Most High because you’ve chosen to make them your god. We’re even commanded not to so much as plant a tree by the altar of the Most High (vs. 21) The Most High can never be diminished to an object or an image.

Law#51 Not to bow down on smooth stone.

Lev. 26:1 "...neither rear you up a standing image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it..."

"Smooth stone" refers to a stone that has been carved to become smooth and made into an idol.


***Law #52 Not to plant a tree in the Temple courtyard.
Deut. 16:21 “Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the Most High God…”

The command is not to plant a tree in the Temple courtyard; considered a holy place.  Because the Temple is no longer in place this is a Law that can no longer be kept.

Law #53 To destroy idols and their accessories.

Deut. 12:2 “Ye shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which ye shall possess served their gods, upon the high mountains, and upon the hills, and under every green tree.”

Just as the Israelites were instructed to destroy every place where pagan worship was performed, we are instructed to take no part in paganism. While this is a valid law, due to the current state of the Nation today, it is not feasible to destroy every pagan temple we see in “Babylon.”  We reside in that land, not in our own.  However, we are instructed to have nothing to do with them. I’ve been told, “No preacher is perfect but everyone needs to be covered by a pastor.” Understand this, it is better to cover yourself with the truth than to follow after a man or woman who is not following after the Most High. It is better for you to worship the Most High alone in your home, than to be around 1,000 worshipers who bow to a false god. Get your priorities in order.

*Law #54 Not to derive benefit from idols and their accessories.

Deut. 7:26 "Nor shall you bring an abomination into your house, lest you be doomed to destruction like it."

This Law is stated below in Law #55, based on Deut. 7:25.  This command, based on vs. 26 is a repeat of the following command based on vs. 25.  Therefore, it should be omitted.  "Accessories" of idols and "ornaments" of idols are the same. 

Law#55 Not to derive benefit from ornaments of idols

Deut. 7:25 “You shall burn the carved images of their gods with fire; you shall not covet the silver or gold that is on them, nor take it for yourselves, lest you be snared by it; for it is an abomination to the Most High.”  

We’ve been commanded to destroy idols that have been set up higher than the Most High. But we are also commanded not to derive benefit from such idols. The Most High wants us to have no connection to idolatry, even if it renders us benefit. There are pastors all around the world upholding lies in the pulpit; worshiping false doctrine and reaping financial benefits for doing so. Then they claim that they are blessed and highly favored by the Most High because they’ve become rich. Not only are you preaching a lie, you’re serving a false god, and you’re reaping benefits worthy of damnation (vs. 26). Money is your idol. If you worship money, sleeping on a park bench will be better for you than putting the value of money higher than the Most High.

Although “Babylon” is not our possession, we are residents in it. Take control of what you do possess; your home and your household and keep the Commandment of the Most High. Do not allow idols into your home because according to the Most High, such items are doomed to destruction. vs. 26 says they are "accursed." If they be in your home, your home will be as it is.
Law #56 Not to make a covenant with idolaters.

Deut. 7:2 “…And when the Most High delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them. You shall make NO COVENANT with them nor show mercy to them.”

This Law is based on Deut. 7:2, which is specifically about what the Israelites were to do upon entering the land promised to their forefather Abraham.  They were not only to avoid making covenants with the pagan people but were instructed to utterly destroy them.  The "destructive" portion of this Law is fulfilled.  This is a specific Law regarding a specific event.

However, we should still heed to the importance of not entering covenant with a people who are not like-minded.  The Israelites entered into a foreign land full of idols and were expected to be a holy people. Today’s Israelites are expected to do the same; reside as scattered people in foreign lands but as holy people. There’s a reason the Israelites were commanded to make no covenant with the 7 nations. Not only because those nations were ordained to be destroyed but also because they did not represent the righteousness of the Most High. While it is not feasible to go around destroying people who do not keep the Commandments, we are not to make covenants with those that we are called to be separated from. Many of us are exiting a Christian mind-state, where we were previously taught to get along with everybody and be tolerant of everybody. We can be a peaceful people but when it comes time to make covenant, form any type of agreement that’s legally binding or even sign a business contract…know who you’re linking yourself to. You can’t perceive your business contracts outside of the Covenant you have the Almighty. They must allow you to keep the Covenant you have with the Most High. If they do not, you cannot link yourself to it or the parties on the other side of it. Because either they or that contract will separate you from your true Covenant, which is an everlasting one. This is a Commandment of the Most High.


Law #57 Not to show favor to them.
Deut. 7:2 “…And when the Most High delivers them over to you, you shall conquer them and utterly destroy them.  You shall make NO COVENANT with them nor show mercy to them.”
Again, a reiteration of Law #56 and the importance of not entering a covenant with a person/people who are not like-minded.

***Law #58 Not to let them dwell in our land

Ex. 23:33 “They shall not dwell in thy land, lest they make thee sin against me: for if thou serve their gods, it will surely be a snare unto thee.”
Maimonides says, “Not to let them dwell in our land.”  This law can no longer be kept because we are not in the land to prevent others from living there. 

Law #59 Not to imitate them in customs and clothing.

Lev. 20:23 “And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.”

The Israelites were commanded not to walk in the way of the nations among them. Likewise, we are commanded not to walk in the wicked way of other nations around us. The Israelite nation was chosen to represent the righteousness of the Most High. How can we do this if we are imitating the wicked? We are to set an example even if the righteous are few and the wicked are many. This is a Commandment of the Most High.

Law #60 Not to be superstitious.

Lev. 19:26 “…neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times.” There were several heathen practices that the Israelites were commanded to avoid. They included practicing divination, sorcery, magic, and witchcraft, among other superstitious pagan practices. These are not a part of the Most High’s righteousness. They stem from the practices of pagan nations. This is why we must study the history behind certain practices, holidays, and celebrations, even if they appear holy and have holy sounding names like “Christmas” and “Resurrection Sunday.” Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. There are many holy-looking things that were designed in the pit of hell with your destruction in mind.

Law #61 Not to go into a trance to foresee events.

Deut. 18:10-12 “There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire (child sacrifice) or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. vs. 11 or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Most High…”

The commandment found in Deut. 18 goes into greater detail than Lev. 19:26. It addresses witches, charmers, spirit guides who consult with familiar spirits, wizards, and necromancers (those who talk to the dead). These acts are considered abominations because they were the acts of the pagan peoples in the land of Canaan. Verse 14 says the nations that dwelled in the land of Canaan did such things, “but as for thee (the Israelites), the Most High hath not suffered thee so to do.” There are spiritual gifts unknown to us but are intriguing only because they are mysterious. The bible doesn’t say they don’t exist. As a matter of fact, it was Saul who spoke with the dead Samuel through a spiritualist (1 Sam 28:3-25). However, we are Commanded not to partake in such practices, possibly because they open the door to other dark spirits whom we have no control over.

Law #62 Not to engage in astrology.

Lev. 19:26 “…neither shall you use enchantment, nor observe times.”

This Law is a continuation of Law #61 found in a similar scripture in Deut. 18:10.

Law #63 Not to mutter Incantations.

Deut. 18:11 “[There shall not be found among you]…a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.”

Incantations are verbal charms or spells for magic. We are commanded not to do so.

Law #64 Not to attempt to contact the dead.

Deut. 18:11 “[There shall not be found among you]…a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.”

The biblical term for someone who contacts the dead is “necromancer.”

Law #65 Not to consult the ov.

Deut. 18:11 “[There shall not be found among you]…a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.” According to Maimonide’s List, there is a Law “not to consult the ov.”

Law #66 Not to consult the yidoni.

Deut. 18:11 “[There shall not be found among you]…a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.” According to Maimonide’s List, there is a Law “not to consult the yidoni.”

 Yidoni refers to doers of witch craft and divination.

Law #67 Not to perform acts of magic.

Deut. 18:10-12 “There shall not be found among you any one that makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire (child sacrifice) or that uses divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch. vs. 11 or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Most High…”


Law #68 Men must not shave their hair off the sides of their head

Lev. 19:27 “You shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.”

This Law is NOT telling you to grow a long beard or an untamed beard or even dreds. There was a specific style the Most High needed to separate the Israelites from…This was the “bowl cut” rounded style that many pagan nations wore in honor of their deity. About the time the Law was given, pagan nations that worshiped the sun would cut their hair in a circle at the crown of the head and around the head to symbolize the sun. The scripture says, do not “round the corners” of your head or “mar” (damage) the corners of your beard. This is because the result was the round bowl cut that pagan people modeled. The Arabs cut their hair in a round fashion, in honor of Bacchus. The Macians, a people of Libya, cut their hair round, so as to leave a tuft on the top of the head. The Most High set out to sanctify the Israelite nation, making them distinct from pagan nations and therefore forbid them from cutting the hair off the sides of their head or their beards to resemble the pagans. 
Law #69 Men must not shave their beards with a razor

Lev. 19:27 “You shall not round the corners of your heads, neither shalt thou mar the corners of thy beard.”
This Law is based on the same scripture as the previous.  This manor of shaving was also done by the pagans to achieve the bowl look in honor of pagan gods. 


Law #70 Men must not wear women’s clothing.

Law #71 Women must not wear men’s clothing

Deut. 22:5 “The woman shall not wear that which pertains to a man, neither shall a man put on a woman’s garment; for all that do so are abomination unto the Most High.”

The command for women not to wear a man’s garment and for men not to wear a woman’s garment clearly indicates differing roles between the man and the woman. This Law sounds like it’s about clothing but the Most High is not simple-minded nor does He only deal with the surface of the matter. This Law goes beyond clothing. At the heart of the matter, it’s about the importance of a man’s role and the woman’s role in a relationship. Traditionally, the two roles were not meant to be confused with one another or switched with one another. Both have unique functions and confusing them renders confusion in the male-female relationship. The woman was never meant to wear a man’s shoes. He is the head of the house. The man was never meant to be subservient to his wife. She is the help to him. There is a line drawn between both roles and if both stay in their lane and give 100% to the relationship, it leads to a healthy union.

Law #72 Not to tattoo the skin

Lev. 19:28 “Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the Most High.” Cuttings= tattoos, body modifications Marks=branding (with hot iron/hanger)

The command clearly states not to do any of these so-called art forms for the dead because traditionally this is the main reason they were done. Pagan nations got tattoos to honor their dead or as a commitment to their tribal affiliations. You may say, my tattoo has nothing to do with affiliation or with the dead. But the commandment goes on to say, “…nor print any marks upon you.” The Most High is against any form of body markings for any reason.
Law #73 Not to tear the skin in mourning.

Deut. 14:1 “Ye are the children of the Most High: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.”

This Law is very similar to the one found in Lev. 19:28, except we see another purpose for the act in ancient times.  Pagans cut their skin in mourning.  Lacerations were also a pagan rite. The Most High seeks to sanctify His people from performing the acts of pagan people. I also want to address the psychological disorder called “cutting.”  The Law stands against this as well. According to psychology, cutting stems from depression, anxiety, and OCD.  It’s a way of displacing a pain you feel mentally into something physical.  Regardless of the reason, it is hurting yourself and it is out of order.  Most importantly, it is an abomination, whether you’re doing it for psychological reasons, for mourning or for culture, it is a sin.

Law #74 Not to make a bald spot in mourning.

Deut. 14:1 “... nor make any baldness between your eyes for the dead.”

Another pagan practice, creating a bald spot in mourning.  Although not as popular today, it is identified in the bible as a pagan practice that we should not emulate.

Law #22 To learn the Torah

Deut. 6:7 “And thou shall teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou rise up.”
It is the responsibility of every Israelite descendant to teach the Torah, particularly to our children. This means that we are required to learn the Torah in order to carry the responsibility of teaching it. This is how knowledge of the Commandments is passed on from generation to generation. When Israelites were enslaved in Africa they were advertised to the Europeans as the “Yahoodee” or the Tribes of Israel. Surely, even while enslaved in Africa they knew who they were. However, one of the greatest strategies of the founders of America was killing off the older generation of the Israelite nation in America, leaving only the young naïve Israelites lacking knowledge of self identity and family ancestry. Those descending from these naïve slaves had no idea they were Israelites and no idea that they were to keep the Commandments. Today, we have a world full of Israelites held accountable to a Law that they know not of because they do not know who they are. Therefore they disregard the Law. This must not happen again. Deut. 6:7 stresses that we are to teach the Commandments to our children at every opportunity possible, rather sitting or walking, rather morning (rising up) or night (lying down). Hosea 4:6 proclaims the Israelites have been destroyed for lack of knowledge. Do not let this destruction continue. Even if you are in the process of learning, teach what you know. Even if you think you know it all, continue to learn what you do not.

One more point, bible study is not a one hour session where we meditate on a bunch of Pauline scriptures about love, joy, gifts and favor and at the end of the session we feel better about ourselves and our personal lives. We should never walk out of a bible study having not learned any aspect of the Torah. It is the most essential part of our obedience and the foundation of the Word of the Most High. It is what the bible is all about, even to the book of Revelations 22:14 “Blessed are those who do His Comandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.”

Law #23 To honor those who teach the Torah

Lev. 19:32 “Thou shalt rise up before the gray headed and honor the face of
the old man, and fear thy God: I am the Lord.”

The elder Israelite is expected to be a leader among us, full of wisdom of the knowledge of Torah. This is what Lev. 19:32 implies. However, not every older Israelite is respectable. Not every older Israelite has knowledge of the Commandments. Likewise, we’ll be surprised at the younger ones the Most High is raising up to teach the Torah. In this season the Almighty is using whoever is willing and ready to be led. The commandment here is to honor the elderly among us. But how can one who is not worthy of honor be given honor? It is not possible. Therefore there is an unspoken implication in this commandment; the elderly must be worthy of honor in order to receive it. Otherwise, we compromise the integrity of the Most High, calling what is unrighteous, righteous and calling what is unholy, holy. The elderly are expected to walk in righteousness and the wisdom of the Word of the Most High. We must hold them accountable to this expectation and uphold them to it because it is clear here that the Most High desires for them to be honorable. Therefore, they must walk in the light of an honorable individual. Then we can truly keep this commandment of honoring them as an elder.
